Hinchman Acres Resort is an all season resort. It fronts the AuSable River with 17
acres of mature forest. Two ponds, one stocked with rainbow trout 10-12 inches - some larger
- pay for what you catch 30 cents an inch and the other with pan fish,
(perch, bass and blue gill) free to our guests is mainly a catch and release.
The resort's trails, which are used for hiking and mountain bike riding, extend into the Huron National Forest. The
resort includes a sandy beach, campfire pit, canoe livery, warming hut and game room, a playground with swings,
sandbox, seesaws, playhouse, ping pong, horseshoes, shuffleboard, basketball, badminton,
volleyball and monkey bars. A coin laundry is available in the game room.

Nearby attractions include 3 golf courses - Amish community - horseback riding, tennis,
antique shops, bowling, Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Shrine, home of
rare Kirtland's Warbler bird - U. S. Forest Service Tours available May & June - Jack
Pine Wildlife Viewing Tour - 2 different auto tours - each approximately 48 miles -
Manufacturer's Outlet Shops - West Branch 32 miles, Mackinac Island 2 hour trip. The
resort entrance is only 4 blocks from downtown Mio.
The resort has 11 cottages for rent. The cottages are clean and AAA approved. Cottages
are equipped and priced as follows:

Kitchens with apartment sized electric stove, oven and broiler, regular size
refrigerator with freezer, 1.2 cu. Ft. microwave with turntable, table and chairs,
toaster, automatic drip coffee pot, pots, pans, and spaghetti strainer, dishes, glasses,

Minimum reservations
Opening week of deer season requires a 5 day minimum reservation
Holiday weekends (Memorial Day & Labor Day) require a 3 day minimum reservation

All other times during year require a 2 day minimum reservation

Cancellations
Reservations are not held if deposit not received within a week
45 day cancellation notice required for deposit refund
Deposit will be refunded if cottage is rented for the reservation period

Credits cards are NOT accepted for deposits but are accepted for payment: VISA,

What not to bring
PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED
Sleds and toboggans cannot be used on premises or trails
No scooters, skateboards, etc
Sleeping bags for use in cottages are not allowed
Cots are not allowed in cottages
Snowmobiles and other ORVs cannot be used on premises or trails
No bike riding on premises. BIKE RIDING ON TRAILS PERMITTED.
This applies to MOUNTAIN BIKES - trails are not suitable for children's bikes.
